Description

Katan is the classic silk of Varanasi: a plain weave made from tightly twisted silk threads, which gives the fabric a smooth hand, a soft sheen and the body to carry heavy zari. On this Banarasi silk saree the gold zari is woven into the fabric on the loom rather than embroidered on top, so the pattern is part of the cloth itself.

Choose deep royal blue or a traditional crimson red. Both are colours made for a wedding, a reception or a festival, and both set off the gold beautifully.
